During my trip to Guam I got to tour Adventist World Radio (AWR). It was a really cool tour and I encourage anyone in Guam to check it out. After the evangelistic meetings we would visit with people, meet the church members and talk with them about what they did in Guam and what we did in Saipan. A few of the people we met worked maintenance at AWR and encouraged us to go take a tour. So Monday morning before we left we headed out to the station to check it out. One of the Maintenance workers met us there even though it was a Holiday and no one was working, he came in to give us a tour of the facility

While we waited for the tour to start we looked at all the pictures of past employees and found the relative of one of the SMs that is in Saipan this year. Recently AWR Guam put in a new antenna and I took a look through the book they made of what it took. It was amazing, I didn't think putting in an antenna in would take so much work, but it took hundreds of thousands of dollars and many man hours to complete. Below are the pictures of the building process.
During the tour we got to see a lot of cool things, since this is a month late in posting, I will do my best to remember all of it. One of the things that I thought was cool is they have a water cooling system for most of the electronics there, and to make sure the water is pure and free of minerals they have a filtration system that makes it safe to use. We got to see the control room and all the places that, the AWR station in Guam has been heard, that amazed me.

After seeing the inside equipment we got to go outside and see the antennas themselves. Below are the pictures,
While we were in the control room the the maintenance man told us a story about a lady from Madagascar.
In the story this lady made a deal with Satan to become a very powerful Witch Doctor. The demons told her that she would be very powerful, able to do amazing things, and not die. So she went to the river where she was instructed to go under the water for 4 days (The demons kept her alive during this time) when she came out of the water she had all the powers they talked about. But one day she got very sick, and nothing was working, no doctor could fix her, So she went to the Adventist Mission hospital where some of the nurses offered to pray with her. She figured since she was sick that the demons had abandoned her so she though, might as well try. After they prayed she started to get better. And she started having Bible studies with the Bible workers and pastors in the area. Eventually she decided to get baptized and was baptized in the same river she became a witchdoctor in. As she came up out of the water she looked up on the hill, where she could see her home, and saw that it was on fire. Once she arrived at where her home used to be, she saw that everything she owned was gone, everything was destroyed and in ashes. Everything except her Bible.
After we had the tour of the AWR facility the rest of the group wanted to go eat, the the guy had offered to show me the maintenance shop. I couldn’t resist that opportunity. They had some great equipment and a massive generator capable of running the entire facility.
