Mid of Week Update

It has been a pretty rough week for me here on Saipan. I'm starting to really miss home. My friends, family, my Windsor Taco Bell. (Never after 8 pm though) Amazon Prime 2 Day Shipping. I miss my fast internet connection. It been a rough past few days. I appreciate any all prayers and support.

I start most days at 7 am by heading to the school to take care of whatever needs done. It's different every day. I take an hour lunch then its back to work, until 4 when I head back to the compound. Lately after work I have been sneaking in a little extra work in the evenings. Looks like the Riddle in me is sticking to me even on the carefree islands.

As I have written before the place I am staying now needs some work. The sheet rock on half of the house was falling apart. Water was getting in from somewhere so n the evening I have been removing the sheet rock looking for the leak. I was able to find it this afternoon and repair it.

On Sunday I was taken on a short tour of the island. Here are some pictures from it. I hope to get quite a few more once I get a vehicle. Hopefully soon. Really soon. Like yesterday soon.

    Your friends and family care and love you no matter where you are the only reason I go on the internet is to see if there is anything new from you. We all miss you and are praying for you and all you do. Every thing else is just that, just things. They won’t be going to heaven with us. The goal is HEAVEN. And God is good. I will be praying that God will help you find a good friend thang you can do things with even go to Taco Bell 🔔. Change and transition is hard but you are strong and will make it.

Cooking in Saipan

Everyone thinks that their mom is the best cook. But they are all wrong. Its true. My mom is literally the best cook. Except for maybe when she cooks quinoa, I can live without that. But seriously she really knows her way around the kitchen. Especially Mexican Food. She must have some Mexican ancestors. Those of you who have known me for longer than 5 minutes know that I love Taco Bell, and if you have been reading my blog you know that my first month here I ate at Taco Bell for virtually every meal. But all that changed when I realized I couldn't afford 15 dollars a day for food at Taco Bell so after I got settled I started cooking for myself. And its largely thanks to my mom that I am able to do that. Now I have always been able to cook. As far back as I can remember I have been able to pop a frozen burrito in the microwave and have it come out near perfect. Its a skill that is hard to find these days. As time went on I needed to learn to cook more complicated dishes. Like pastas...

1000 Days

I noticed today that it has been over a year since my last blog post, so I figured it was time to post an update. A lot has happened in the last year! First of all, I moved from Saipan and accepted a job working for the Micronesia Mission office in Guam. Second and even more exciting, I have a girlfriend! We met in Tennessee this last summer and I am so thankful that she is a part of my life. There will be future posts with stories and lessons I have learned in the last year, but for this post I want to focus on my last 1000 days as a missionary. It is hard to believe that it has been just over 1000 days since I first landed in Saipan almost 3 years ago. When I hit that milestone on Monday, I thought back to my first day on the island. The people were friendly and the trees and water were beautiful. There were brightly colored flowers everywhere! The sun was shining brightly and the air was fresh, and the only thing on my mind was….. How can I get home? Oh how I wanted to leave!...
